Attarangi played an excellent game on Saturday and her high percentage shooting accuracy in the game helped her team secure a win over Cashmere J of 27-19. She worked extremely hard in the goal circle.moving well, placing herself strategically and taking beautiful passes. She showed wonderful team leadership, encouraging and motivating her team players to work hard. 7 June Katie Canavan and Amber Lilley
Team: Under 16b Team Merlin's M
Position: Goal Shoot and Goad Attack
This week our Player of the Week Club Award is shared between Katie Canavan and Amber Lilley from Our Merlins M team, which is coached by Fiona Milner. On Saturday Katie and Amber returned to Hagley Park at 3.00pm to fill in for the Under 16A Team who were short two players. As you may remember last Saturday at 3.00pm temperatures had dropped to 6 degrees. It was hailing and then snowed. For these two young players to come down to the court in these shocking conditions to play for another Merlins team was admirable. Not only did they turn up they both played one of the best games I have ever seen them play. The combination of the two as GA and GS was amazing and they helped the Under 16A team take a huge lead and win the game over Villa Maria. Accurate feeding and shooting from these two players on Saturday was awesome but their commitment and dedication to the Merlin
